Frequently Asked Questions
How does payment work for a group?
Two ways. For most groups — family friends, sports teams — each parent shows up, signs up their own kids, and pays for them at check-in. We track headcount and give the group organizer a final count once everyone’s in. For birthday parties or single-host events where one person pays for the whole group, you pay $40 per participant with a 30-person minimum ($1,200 floor). We still keep an accurate headcount as people arrive and give you the final total once everyone’s checked in. Cash is preferred, but for single-host events we can take a check.
What’s the group size minimum and maximum?
30 person minimum, 50 person hard cap. If you book and only have 28 show up, the 30-person minimum still applies for single-host bookings. If you hit 50 and people keep arriving, we have to turn them away — there’s no flex on the cap. Plan your headcount accordingly.
What’s included for the night?
The whole park and deck are private to your group from 6:00 to 7:30 — no waiting, no sharing with strangers, no walk-up traffic. Deck access continues until 8:00 for hanging out, eating, and wrapping up. Lifeguards on duty the whole session. Kayaks and paddleboards are not included.
Can we bring food and drinks?
BYOB, yes. For food, the easiest move is full catering through The Watering Hull — we arrange it as an add-on when you book, and it shows up at the dock ready to go. If you’d rather order on your own, any spot in Stone Harbor will deliver right to the dock. Just let us know when you book either way.
How do waivers work?
Every kid needs a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Most groups handle this on-site — parents sign as they arrive and check their kids in. If one parent wants to sign for the whole group’s kids (common for sports teams or extended family events), that’s fine too. Just let the front desk know when you arrive.
Can we show up early to set up and decorate?
Yes. Group organizers can arrive 30-45 minutes before the event to set up the deck — decorate however you want, just nothing that can blow into the water. We provide empty coolers and our ice machine is yours for the night with unlimited refills. Bring whatever drinks and decor you need and make the deck your own.
What’s your cancellation and weather policy?
If we cancel for weather, you reschedule at no charge — staff call on conditions, always. If you need to cancel on your end, do it more than 72 hours before your event and there’s no charge. Cancellations or no-shows inside 72 hours are charged the $1,200 minimum to the card on file. We send multiple reminders with easy cancellation options so you’ve got every chance to let us know — just give us the heads up and we’ll work with you.
How far in advance should I book?
Book early. By mid-July, nearly the entire summer is full. Sports team events and birthday parties usually lock in 4-6 weeks ahead, and the most-requested dates — summer weekends — go first. We have some weeknight availability that opens up closer in, so if your date is flexible, call us. But for a specific date, the earlier the better.
