Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Stone Harbor Charter?

Our 22-passenger flagship charter — built for groups, events, and the moments worth sharing. Bachelorette parties, wedding events, milestone birthdays, family reunions, corporate outings. Your USCG-licensed captain runs the boat through Stone Harbor and Avalon’s back bays while you and your group focus on the celebration. Coolers, ice, speaker, water — all included.

Is the Stone Harbor Charter right for our group?

Seven guests or more, this is your boat. 22 is the hard max, but 15 is the sweet spot where everyone has room to move, sit, dance, and actually talk. If you’re booking a wedding party of 18 or a bachelorette of 14, this is exactly what it’s built for. If you’re 6 or fewer, the Basin Cruiser is a better fit — smaller, more intimate, half the price.

Do we have to plan the route before we book?

Not at all. Book the boat, show up, tell your captain what you feel like doing. Bachelorette party of 14? Just book the boat — we’ll figure out the stops, the route, and the timing once you’re aboard. Want to hit The Lazy Bass in North Wildwood? Run down to Cape May? Just cruise the back bay with cocktails? Day-of works fine. The only thing that helps is a heads-up if you want a specific destination that needs real time, so we can pace it right. Otherwise, just show up.

We’re planning a wedding event — bachelorette, bridal party, post-ceremony. How does that work?

This is what the boat is built for. We’ve run countless bachelorette parties, bridal-party cruises, rehearsal-dinner-adjacent boat trips, and post-ceremony “let’s get out of the venue for an hour” runs. Bring your music, your decorations, your champagne, your matching tees — the boat is yours for the duration. The captain handles the boat, you handle the celebration. Decorations and coolers welcome. Just tell us what you’re celebrating when you book.

Can we actually get to Cape May or Wildwood in two hours?

Honestly, it depends. The Stone Harbor Charter is bigger and heavier than the Basin Cruiser — takes longer to settle out of the no-wake zone and runs at a more relaxed pace. The Lazy Bass in North Wildwood is the easiest destination — relaxed full trip, plenty of time. The Wharf is doable but tight. Cape May (Port or The Lobster House) is a stretch in two hours with 18 people aboard — possible if everyone’s ready to plane and not stop, but most groups going to Cape May are better served by sticking closer or planning a separate trip. Tell us where you want to go when you book and we’ll set the pace honestly.

What’s included, and what should we bring?

Coolers, ice, water, a speaker for your music, and your captain — all included, no hidden fees. BYOB is welcome and standard for groups. Bring whatever decorations, sashes, banners, or props your event calls for. Food: takeout before boarding is the easiest move — the boat moves, food gets messy fast. Sunscreen, hats, and a charged phone for photos round it out.

What’s your cancellation and weather policy?

If we cancel for weather, you reschedule at no charge — captain’s call on water conditions, always. If you need to cancel or reschedule on your end, do it more than 24 hours before your session and there’s no charge. Cancellations or no-shows inside 24 hours are charged the full session rate. We send multiple reminders with easy cancellation options so you’ve got every chance to let us know.
