Why Island Water Sports
Every session is a private ski boat charter with a USCG-licensed captain. Tubing is what most guests choose — from first-timers to teenagers asking the captain to send it harder. For wakeboarders, water skiers, and kneeboarders, we run a ski boom: the rigid bar extending off the side of the boat that lets new riders learn next to the captain before ever touching a tow rope. It’s the only one on the Jersey Shore. Our patient captains meet every skill level where they are — because this should be the most memorable thing your family does all summer.

How long does my group need — 1.5 hours or 2?
If everyone wants to tube, 1.5 hours is plenty — even with one person who wants to try learning water skiing, wakeboarding, or kneeboarding. If you’ve got multiple people who want to learn, book the 2 hours. That’s the sweet spot to give every rider real time on the boom plus tubing for the group, without anyone feeling rushed. Our captains get out there and get to business — no wasted time on the water.
Do I need experience to go tubing, water skiing, or wakeboarding?
No experience needed. Tubing works for everyone from first-timers to thrill-seekers — the captain dials the speed to the rider. For water skiing, wakeboarding, and kneeboarding, we teach new riders on our ski boom: a rigid bar off the side of the boat that lets you learn next to the captain before ever touching a tow rope. It’s the only one on the Jersey Shore.
What kind of tubes do you have?
We run two single-rider donut tubes at a time — riders can sit upright or lay on their stomach for a faster ride. The floor inside the tube means little ones can kneel safely, and running two tubes side by side gives everyone more turns. It also lets the older kids battle it out behind the boat while younger siblings ride right next to them — nervous first-timers feel a lot braver with a brother or sister on the next tube over.
What’s the minimum age and how many people can come?
Up to 6 guests per ski boat. There’s no strict minimum age — the captain adjusts the experience to who’s on board, from young kids on a slow tube ride to teenagers asking to send it harder. Life vests are provided and required for all riders.
Where do you launch from and where do you ride?
We launch from our dock at 9701 3rd Avenue in Stone Harbor and ride the protected back bay waters between Stone Harbor and Avalon. Calm water, no ocean swells — the same stretch of bay we’ve been running since 1988.
What’s your cancellation and weather policy?
If we cancel for weather, you reschedule at no charge — captain’s call on water conditions, always. If you need to cancel or reschedule on your end, do it more than 24 hours before your session and there’s no charge. Cancellations or no-shows inside 24 hours are charged the full session rate. We send multiple reminders with easy cancellation options so you’ve got every chance to let us know — just give us the heads up and we’ll work with you.
